FAER is pleased to offer five travel scholarships for anesthesiology residents to attend the Anesthesiology Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This conference will bring together anesthesiologists, inventors, patent attorneys, corporate executives, venture capitalists and others to discuss how “bright ideas” can be brought to market to improve patient care. We believe that residents and even medical students may have innovative ideas and that a “boot camp” such as ACIE could assist them in commercializing their intellectual property.
These scholarships will provide complimentary registration and $500 to help defray travel costs.
To apply for a scholarship to attend ACIE, please submit the following materials to Ginger Smith, FAER program coordinator, at GingerSmith[at]faer.org, by December 15, 2013. Recipients will be notified ASAP after December 15.
- Nomination letter from the applicant’s anesthesiology department chair. This letter should detail why the recipient will benefit from attending ACIE, as well as his or her past accomplishments in the areas of research and innovation.
- Applicant’s curriculum vitae.
- Personal statement by applicant highlighting past accomplishments relevant to ACIE and how attending the conference will assist career goals. 500 words maximum.
The scholarship winners will be reviewed and selected by the ACIE organizing committee on a rolling basis.
